The Sikh Soup Kitchen One Creator, One Race
Supporting communities through selfless service
The Sikh Soup Kitchen is a community based project taken from the concept of Langar created by the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Langar is a free kitchen (free vegetarian food) for the whole of humanity, free from any discrimination.
Food is the vital first step in helping people towards a better future. Without The Sikh Soup Kitchen many of those that use the service would struggle to afford every day essentials, like a hot meal.
Our Base - Handsworth, Birmingham
Langar is served worldwide 24 hours a day in every Sikh Gurdwara and is open to all of humanity, free from any discrimination. Everybody is welcome.
We are inspired to continue this concept of serving humanity in our local area. Please get in touch if you would like to volunteer and or would like set up in your local area.
COVID-19 Support
In the face of this unprecedented global health crisis, The Sikh Soup Kitchen is here to support those in need.
Our resilience is being tested at all levels. We believe that everyone's health, safety and well-being during this emergency is paramount, and that its only by working together in partnership, that we will find a way through this difficult time.
Support for Communities
We are an organisation that champions tenant and community participation by developing groups, supporting active participation and building cohesive communities.
“With the support from The Sikh Soup Kitchen, we have been able get through the coronavirus pandemic without having to worry about where the next meal was going to come from”
— Retired citizens of Handsworth, Birmingham
